"Truth Values" Extravaganza

Gioia De Cari performed her award-wining hit solo show, "Truth Values: One Girl's Romp Through M.I.T's Male Math Maze," to a sold-out crowd in SU's Memorial Auditorium on October 17th. The show was hosted by STEMUP-PA with additional support from SU's office of social equity, women's center and the department of mathematics.

Dr. Paul Taylor had his article “Starting an actuarial program with existing resources” accepted for publication in the journal PRIMUS – Problems, Resources, and Issues in Mathematics Undergraduate Studies.

Understanding the Influence of Unconscious Bias in the Hiring Process

Dr. Kate McGivney, Professor of Mathematics and STEM-UP PA PI, and Dr. Alice Armstrong, Associate Professor of Mathematics and STEM-UP PA Co-PI were invited to present the talk, "Understanding the Influence of Unconscious Bias in the Hiring Process" at the Human Resources conference.  In September Dr. Kate McGivney and Dr. Sarah N. Bryant, STEM-UP PA Project Manager, were invited to present this talk to faculty and administrators at Elizabethtown College.
